For those of you who know me, you know that I like to change things up with my hair styles and color. I was born a brunette, became a blonde for a while and am currently a red head. Changing my hair style keeps me feeling less stagnated it helps me to continue to embrace change, but the changes that I have a hard time keeping up with are those in Social Media. Changes in Social Media come fast and furious!
As I was preparing for a new class I am offering, “Social Media for the Business Owner,” I found changes mainly in FaceBook.
So let’s take a look at FaceBook
The Fan Page is now called the Business Page. People no longer “Become a Fan” they now “like” or “dislike” you. This change is minor, but it is hard to get past saying “Become a Fan”. I guess we need to get used to saying, “Come like my business page”. Not quite as catchy.
You now have the FaceBook Insights App to see who is coming to your Business (Fan) page. This is really helpful to understand who is interested in your business page. It helps you understand the demographics of the people viewing your page and perhaps you might find a market you didn’t know you had.

These are just a few of the changes. It is so true when people say there are no true Social Media experts. Social Media changes so fast, that I know I will be updating “Social Media for the Business Owner,” each and every time it is taught.
